TOKENIZING TRAVEL
We help airlines and other travel providers tokenize travel.
We help them translate their inventory onto tokens that can be stored and exchanged using blockchain.
Furthermore, we help airlines write smart contracts to leverage the benefits that blockchain technology provides

THE PROBLEM
Walled Garden and Oligopoly
It looks like the GDS’s have got it made, especially Amadeus, with healthy EBITDA from their GDS and PSS business and a growing portfolio of value added solutions. The GDS/PSS market could become a monopoly making the duopolistic OTA market look like the ideal solution. No wonder there is a deep-rooted frustration within airlines over the inefficiency in travel distribution.
Old Technology and no Incentive to Change
The distribution technology was initially designed for the airline business model of the 60’s and then modified to support the deregulated environment of the 70’s and 80’s but the airline business model has continued to evolve and the GDS’s have not been able to follow. There is no need for the incumbent distribution providers to invest in new technology, let alone technology that could jeopardize their current lucrative business. In fact, they are likely to use their power to stop any attempt to disrupt the market.
Expensive Distribution and Uneven Value sharing
Having inefficient business models in an oligopolistic market inevitably leads to expensive service charged with a healthy margin. This results in middlemen sporting a market cap considerably larger than their customers.

SOLUTION
The Future of Travel Distribution

TECHNOLOGY
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)
70 years ago, a leading airline realized the potential of information technology developed for the financial industry. By adapting this new technology for the travel industry, the airlines could create a competitive advantage through better scaling and market access. Today, the finance industry has adopted the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) that promises a future where two parties can exchange value with trust but without a middleman. Cirravia’s plan is to disrupt the travel industry by learning from fintech.
Smart Contracts / ÐApps
Smart contracts are computer protocols that facilitate, verify or enforce the negotiation or performance of a contract, or that make a contractual clause unnecessary. Smart contracts can emulate the logic of contractual clauses. This technology enables us to build distribution protocols that can run in a trustless environment. Smart contract technology is a basic building block for Cirravia’s Travel Tokenizing strategy.
Artificial Intelligence / Mobile Agents
Advancement in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, especially in machine learning, and mobile agents (bots) allows analysis of massive data sets and creation of next generation user interfaces (bots, voice recognition). AI is the key building block of Cirravia’s Smart Sorting strategy.
